Rock genre

Rock
Rock isn’t anymore the centre of the musical universe as pop took over. When rock was at the top it was seen as a bad boy image.
The target audience for rock is now 16-25 years old and mainly white males this could be because majority of the bands are made up from group of males.
A usual rock band has a lead guitarist which is a member that plays an Electric Guitar like no other and the band will give him the stage for about 10 to 15 minutes, a lead singer seen as the most important member who identifies the band, the drummer he is on my point of view the main member because he is the one who has to make sure everyone is on tempo, bassist is seen as underestimate but normally he is the one who does more jobs at once such as vocals, front man and play the bass guitar. Most bands have four members but if there are five the fifth could be the rhythm guitarist,
sometimes this role is taken by the lead singer and the sixth member is the Keyboardist/Pianist usually underrated but adds flair to the final tune making it more valuable.

Rock is a genre which has many styles of rock music here are the three most common ones:

Alternative metal -
alternative metal is categorised as like-minded groups that feature furious solos and accelerated tempos.
band example:
Red hot chili pepper

Hard rock -
The difference in hard rock is that hard rock bands emphasise battering drums and loud guitars, the hard rock artists conceder a great deal in the volume of the song and the up-tempo to calming melodies and calmer rhythms.

band example:
KISS

industrial -

the stereotypes of industrial rock would include discordant noise, harsh unpleasant musical form and drum machines. It is roughly so, industrial rock can also be executed using unconventional instruments in a mainstream rock setting
example band :

Skinny puppy

The stereotype when I think of rock would include the colour black, this could be because the majority of rock singes wear dark coloured clothing when on stage, and most of the instruments and props are black.

famous bands wearing black:

Slash

The symbol of rock

Another thing that I see often on rock fan is the hand gesture commonly seen at rock concerts
called "rock on" hand gesture raising the pinkie and index fingers on one hand.

Ronnie James Dio, who sang with Black Sabbath and Rainbow before forming his own band, was partly responsible for the popularity of the symbol among metal fans.
For Dio, it was a superstitious way to ward off evil.
Dio started throwing the horns with the explanation that he was taught the so-called corna sign by his Italian grandmother, as a way to scare off the "evil eye", a look which is said to cause bad luck.
Fans copied Dio because they thought it looked cool, and fans use the hand gesture along with head banging at heavy metal gigs and shows to show their appreciation.

Ronnie James Dio:

And at least the tongue out. The tongue out started with Gene Simmons is iconic for wagging his tongue in KISS made it a piece of rock-and-roll imagery copied by others.

Now we are left with the whole classic Rock 'n Roll pose!

If I would do a rock magazine the cover would have dark colours such a black, grey, red and white to contrast with the dark colours. The front cover individual would have to the full on Rock 'n Roll  pose. Including in the magazine spread concert dates, instruments guitars used by bands, all members of the band history and gossip.
